Reverend
Lorne Denny - Parish Priest
Father
Lorne was licensed as Priest in Charge of this parish on the 3rd of
September 2007, the service being conducted by the Bishop of Dover, the Rt
Revd Stephen Venner.
Fr Lorne is much
enjoying the challenge and charge of his first full time post in parish
ministry and feels privileged to serve as priest with a lively congregation
in such an impressive and beautiful church.
Previously he had
taught English and directed drama at Magdalen College School Oxford and
served as NSM Curate in the parishes of St. Barnabas Oxford and St. Francis
Cowley.
He can think of no
finer work than being an ambassador for the love of Christ to a large,
diverse and rapidly growing population and he hopes that people of all kinds
will find friendship, meaning and worship that is both joyful and faithful
in Holy Trinity Church.

Angie Daniel -
Lay Reader
Angie
has lived in this parish for 6 years having moved here from Upchurch, a
small village just about 2 miles away, and has two daughters both in their
thirties who live quite close, but no grandchildren yet.
She has been
retired since February 2007 and is enjoying having more time to
work in the parish and hopefully will find more time to play golf, her
favourite sport. She also enjoys walking very much, especially by the sea.
She was
licensed as a Reader on 22nd July 2007, in Canterbury Cathedral.

Jean

Jean has
previously served our church as lay reader for many years.
(Jean has at past
times been on retreat to the Society of Mary and Martha at Sheldon in the Teign
Valley, near Exeter in Devon. You may find the pictures at the bottom of the page
of interest).

The
Vicars of Milton |
|
|
|
As the list on
the Chancel wall remarks: “It is extremely difficult to find the names
of the very early vicars. Records of the early fourteenth century are
very few; the list however is fairly complete from 1390.” |
|
It is probable
that the church was served by Friars from St. Augustine’s Abbey,
Canterbury, and after 1148, by those from Faversham. |
